1. Los Campesinos! - Hello Sadness

Gee, aren’t you all shocked?

2. Kanye West and Jay-Z - Watch the Throne

The most quote-able album of the year. 

3. The Grates - Secret Rituals

Sadly this album is not even commercially available in America.

4. The Joy Formidable - The Big Roar 

These guys might be my new favourite band. 

5. Johnny Foreigner  - Johnny Foreigner vs. everything. 

Dark horse album. NME can suck it. 

Honourable Mentions:

Feist - Metals

No longer considered the “ipod” girl, though I never saw her as that. Really a deep album.

The Go! Team - Rolling Blackouts

A fun LP. Sadly I think its their last one. 

Foo Fighters - Wasting Light

I was surprised at this one. After all of these years, Dave and co still “got it” in them.

Could have been better. 

Drake - Take Care

Really only two tracks on this I love.

Florence and the Machine - Ceremonials

An utter disappointing second LP after the first great record she had. 

The Wombats - This modern glitch

I don’t know, i’m just not really feeling this one.

Absolutely Fucking Overrated

Adele - 21

She’s talented, but I’m tired of hearing “Rolling in the deep” and that other song 2000x. When you start hearing it at hockey games you know she jumped the shark.
